Read on for some tips and tricks for how to get new characters and level them up in Animation Throwdown: The Quest for Cards!
Earning new characters is a simple yet difficult process. You have to go through various ranks in the arena to earn characters. Each time you rank up, you get one new character. Battle in the arena to earn twelve experience points toward your new rank. When you fill the bar at the top of the screen, then increase your rank to the next level, the new character will appear on your character list.
To choose which character you want to use, tap on your profile picture, and the player profile will open up. Tap on the picture of your character again, and the character select screen will open up. Pick which of the unlocked characters you want to use, tap on them, then exit out by hitting the red X.
Leveling up characters is done by earning hero shards. In order to earn hero shards, you have to battle in the arena. Once you win the battle you will have a chance at earning one random shard, although the shard might not have anything to do with the character you are using or fighting against, or even unlocked already.
If you want to increase the chance of earning hero shards, make sure to get the ad bonuses. If you watch one ad, you will have a 1.1x chance at earning the shard bonus. Watch a second ad and you will have a 1.3x chance at earning the ad bonus. Watch a third ad and you will have a 1.5x at earning an ad bonus.
There are no heroes or hero shards for purchase in the store, but more additions to the game are planned with future updates as they come out, so keep checking back. Shards may show up as a featured item, or in a special event as a reward.
