Beast Quest: Tips, Tricks, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

Beast Quest is the new iOS and Android adaptation of the popular children’s book series that came before it, but don’t be fooled – this is an excellent action-RPG, more Zelda-esque than one might expect, with your hero’s goal being to rescue people and free the beasts before they destroy the land of Avantia. Read on for some tips and tricks for Beast Quest for the iOS and Android!

Gems are the premium currency of the game. Normally, they are a little bit tough to come by in this game, but if you want to earn them for free, go to the settings menu and watch an advertisement video for free gems. Once you finish the video, you’ll earn your reward. You can do this as many times as you want to as long as there are available videos to watch.

Defense is the most important part of the fight. The main methods of defense are evading to the left and to the right (left for left attacks, right for right attacks and either direction for attacks to the center). Or you can use the shield to block. If you read the attack direction correctly, slash in the opposite direction as the enemy’s attack to parry the blow.

For attacking, you can either do charge attacks or you can simply slash over and over and do a little bit of damage at a time, and have it add up to a lot of damage. Generally, the two most effective methods of attacking, as far as damage for time, are the little slashes at high speed, and the big slashes when you charge an attack fully. Incomplete charges, while still effective, aren’t quite as effective as those two.

Most of your quests will have you using the map and searching around, but sometimes you will need to detour for coins or to recover hit points. Grab up any of the arctic herbs that you see for some quick hit point recovery, and tap on holes that are dug in the ground in order to grab coins.

If you encounter an area where enemies are too tough to defeat at the time, go back to a previous area, kill some enemies until you gain experience levels, and then use the experience to unlock higher upgrade levels for your weapon, shield and armor. Upgrade them until you are strong enough to go back to the area that you were previously stuck on.
