Black Desert Mobile, for the iOS and Android platforms, can be considered a sequel, of sorts, to the original smash hit MMORPG Black Desert Online, because there is plenty to do in this game that wasn’t even around in the big boy game. Some of it involves the Black Spirit itself.
From the beginning, the Black Spirit will guide you, will enable you to enhance your equipment, and will enable you to feed it old equipment to make your characters more powerful, among other things, but it can also auto-farm for you in order to add an “offline” role playing mode to the game.
Read on for a full guide to Black Spirit Mode in Black Desert Mobile!
At a certain point in the nearly endless tutorial, you’ll unlock Black Desert Mode. This might seem like small potatoes at first, but it will enable you to make consistent progress even when you’re not actively playing the game, so that you can keep gaining levels, earning loot, resources, and fish even while you are offline.
First, you’ll need to beat the boss Giath in order to unlock the Black Spirit mode. If you haven’t yet, then the mode will be grayed out and you won’t be able to tap it, so go boss hunting until you beat Giath.
To activate the Black Spirit mode, go to the menu and tap on the Black Spirit Mode button in the bottom right corner of the screen. Once you do that, you’ll be able to choose Auto-Hunting, Auto-Gathering, or Auto-Fishing.
If hunting is your thing, you’ll want to activate the Auto Hunting mode. This will allow you to hunt monsters while you’re offline, with your rewards being experience points and loot. Great if you need to level up and get money.
If you want to get more resources for your camp, then activate the Auto Gathering mode. This will allow you to mine, forage, log, etc. while you are offline, so that you don’t have to spend time doing that while you are playing the game.
If you want to get more fish, so that you can feed your pets and make them stronger, or so that you can sell them, then activate the auto-fishing mode to go fishing.
All of the automatic modes last for three hours apiece. Make sure that you check back often in order to restart the Black Spirit mode. Push notifications make this easy to do – just set them so that you get an alert when Black Spirit Mode is ready to set again.
So how should you use Black Spirit Mode? If you are jack of all trades, then switch back and forth between Hunting, Fishing, and Farming in order to get a good all-around gathering of experience, resources, loot, and fish.
If you want to be at the highest strength and level possible, then spend your time mainly on Hunting. If you want to build the best camp possible, spend your time mainly on Gathering. If you want to have the strongest pets or sell fish for a ton of loot at a time, do Fishing mostly.
Or you can simply do offline what you don’t feel like doing when you are online. If you hate gathering, just do it offline. If you’re tired of battling, do that offline. If you don’t like or just forget to fish, do that one offline. Experiment and see what you like best!
