Blocky Racing is a new racing game for the iOS and Android featuring 3D pixelated cars attacking each other and racing around a number of tracks. Your goal, of course, is to get first place, and to do so you’ll have to earn coins and unlock new cars, as well as upgrade the car that you have. Read on for some tips and tricks for Blocky Racing!
Each car that you own has up to 10 energy that can be used for racing. If you run out of energy entirely, though, and you want to restore it right away, go to the date and time settings and set your phone/tablet clock ahead by about an hour. Then go back to the game and all of your energy will be restored. Once you do that, you can set the time back to normal and go back to the game, and you won’t lose any energy.
You earn coins by finishing in first place and by completing other various actions in the race, such as not taking any damage or getting a lot of air time. You can also earn coins in the coin menu by watching videos for 30 coins apiece. You can watch as many of them as you want in order to speed your upgrading along.
When you’re choosing what upgrades to do, speed and acceleration are the most important, but armor and handling are the ones that will need to be upgraded just to keep up. Speed and acceleration without handling and armor will lead to more crashes. The handling will help you prevent the crashes and the armor will help you take less damage every time that you crash.
For accurate turning, it’s best to leave the steering controls on the default mode, with left and right buttons on either side of the screen. Tap the buttons, rather than holding them down, in order to do gradual turns. The slower that you turn, the more speed you’ll retain through the turn, so start your turn as early as possible and as soon as you see one coming up. Study the map before the race so that you can predict the turns better.
Look for shortcuts in every level that you play. Not all of them will have shortcuts, but some will have them, and when they do, chances are they’ll be blocked off by dice or other obstacles, or even have mines placed in them. If you get a shield from a power-up box, save it so that you can plow through the shortcuts quickly and without taking unnecessary damage.
