Bloons TD Battles 2 is a new tower defense game for the iOS and Android platforms and is the sequel to one of the most popular and longest-tenured tower defense classics on any mobile platform. This PVP-themed update to the series pits you against other players in direct competition as you build your defenses against their bloons, while sending your own bloons to try to knock out their defenses and drain their energy to win the match.
Read on for some tips and tricks for Bloons TD Battles 2!
Your first goal in each battle should be to make sure that your defenses are strong. There is a ton of freedom to work with here; you can place different types of defense monkeys and towers, as well as choose from a wide range of locations in which to place them. As you build up gold, don’t forget to clear out rock formations so that you have even more locations available to place your defenses.
Eventually you’re going to run out of space to put defenses, or putting base-level defenses will simply not be worth it, so start upgrading your existing defense towers. Tap them and you’ll be able to upgrade up to two different times to increase things like range, firing speed, number of projectiles fired, and damage dealt per shot. There is an almost limitless amount of opportunity and customization available.
You won’t be able to begin sending balloons at your opponent until a few rounds in, but start sending them as quickly as possible, for many reasons. For one, your income will increase, allowing you to place and upgrade more defenses at a much quicker rate. The initial cost of each bloon card is low enough to be worth the income increase, especially early on.
Plus, adding the bloons to what’s already coming at your opponent is a great way to put pressure on their defenses, forcing them to spend more coins early on than they want to in order to keep up. As rounds press on, you’ll unlock tougher and tougher balloons, so keep sending the toughest possible balloons at your enemy and you’ll start breaking through more easily.
Be sure to also tailor your sent balloons to their defenses. For the most part, sending the most recently-unlocked balloon will be your best bet, but send high-number balloons against archers and other single-projectile shooters, and send low-number, high-damage balloons to counter splash damage towers.
Whenever possible, if you do not have VIP status, watch ad videos after each match in order to increase your rewards. Each ad lasts between 30 and 45 seconds, which is a short enough time to be worth the rewards.
Each time that you win a match, you earn monkey money, which is the primary currency of the game. Monkey money is best used to unlock new monkeys, and to upgrade the ones that you already have. The combination of monkeys to use in your battle loadout is entirely up to you – there are so many different ones that it’s impossible to say what the definitive best loadout would be.
