Brave Frontier: The Last Summoner is the sequel to the smash hit 2014 iOS and Android game Brave Frontier, bringing the style and the characters into the 3D era while keeping just as unique of a game as Gumi had made the first time around. You can go through single-player quests and follow the story, while also earning Zell, Karma, Orbs, and more treasures, and building the strongest team possible. Read on for some tips and tricks for Brave Frontier: The Last Summoner!
Battling is simple, but against harder enemies, and especially in Harvest and Challenge modes, it can get extremely tough. Swipe across all units to use all of their attacks at once, but when the going gets tough, target an enemy to see which of your units are strong against it, and then attack with the strong units. Skill crystals are earned by using regular attacks, and allow you to use your burst moves, so to load up on skill crystals, you can target one specific enemy early on, then have all five of your units attack them. Even when the attack damage isn’t needed due to the creature already being dead, you still earn skill crystals.
There are numerous ways to improve your team. First and foremost is fusing. You can either sacrifice units to improve the level of a specific unit (good way to get rid of common units that clog up the roster), or you can get huge level bonuses by sacrificing metal characters such as the Metal King and the Metal God. The maximum level depends on the star tier – for example, a three-star character can upgrade to level 60 at the highest, while a two-star unit can upgrade to level 20 at the highest.
Evolving a unit is the next step. This increases their star ranking by one, as well as boosting their stats accordingly. First, a unit needs to be at its maximum level. Then, if the unit has memories available, you need to play through all of their memories. Finally, you need the right mix of crystals. If you have all of that, then you can evolve the unit and increase its star tier.
You can engage in regular, harvest, challenge, or challenge+ battles. Regular are the easiest and contain the stories. Harvest are similar to regular, but tougher, and they give better rewards. Challenge are the second toughest, and you’ll win permanent boosts from them, such as higher maximum Zell. Challenge+ are insanely hard, but with even better permanent boosts. With any of these levels, start from area 1-1 to gauge where you’re at, then work your way up.
Pay attention for the notification icon in every tab, but especially the summoning tab, because it will tell you when you either have a free offering available, or when you have enough of one currency or another to do a rare summon. When you get a rare, multi-star unit, use fuse or battle them in old battles to increase their experience level, so that their stats can get caught up with the other units, and you can add them to your battle party.
