Color Switch 2018, or just Color Switch as the official name is, is one of the most popular iOS and Android games in history, and it’s now been completely remastered and rereleased for a far cleaner and more polished feel. You can play level-based challenge modes or endless modes, earn new shapes to bounce with, and collect stars as you go. Read on for some tips and tricks for Color Switch, the 2018 Relaunch!
The core gameplay of the primary mode is the same as before; if you haven’t played it before, it’s essentially a vertical Flappy Bird. You tap the screen to bounce up, and you have to bounce the ball (or square or whatever shape you have) through the identically-colored obstacle. If you bounce it through the wrong color, then you die and your round ends.
The “game modes” option presents all sorts of different types of gameplay, many of which mimic old-school arcade games. Ocean is similar, but you can also bounce left and right as well as up, and gravity is lessened. Gravity is like the main game, but the direction of gravity changes. Easiest way to beat this one is to tilt your phone a bit whenever the gravity changes so that the direction of the bounce is always upwards.
Rebound is essentially along, but with different colors on the paddle. Brick is like Breakout, but hitting color-matched bricks destroys them instantly. Launch lets you shoot your shape from one obstacle to the other with just one tap. Phoenix is like the original mode except if you hit a fireball, you pass the level instantly. Star is essentially the same as Challenge, but with different levels and more obstacles so that you can collect more stars.
To collect stars as quickly as possible, first, play somewhere with a data connection. Once you know you have a good connection, play a level, then lose. Then tap the video button, and a commercial will play. Finish the ad video and you will earn 30 free stars instantly. Do this as often as you can for the most possible stars.
When you have those stars, go to the in-game store (the shopping cart button). Then pick an item by the amount of stars it costs. Tap it and a new shape will pop out. You can use as any shape that you want after you unlock them. There will be no change to the gameplay, just to the appearance of the shape itself.
