Diamond Diaries Saga is a new puzzle game by King, who, surprisingly, is still making non-Candy Crush games. Your goal is to get diamonds to fall down to the bottom of the level by swiping over like-colored balls that are next to each other, like in Disney Tsum Tsum and other similar games. You can collect coins, use special moves, and play hundreds- and thousands of levels like in King’s other games. Read on for some tips and tricks for Diamond Diaries Saga!
One great thing about the combos in this game is that you are not burdened by only being able to do a combo of between 3-5 gems like in many other games. Here, you can do a combo of as many tiles as you want, as long as they are next to each other. You can link them in any order as long as they are next to each other. You can even skip around from one side of the tile cluster to the other.
The more tiles you mix together, the better the special orb will be. The Star Ray is the best of all, as it clears space in eight directions. You need to clear 12 tiles of the same color to earn the Star Ray. Six tiles allows you to earn a special orb that clears in two directions; nine tiles allows you to clear the board in four directions.
You begin with five lives, or hearts. If you lose at a stage, you lose a life, but if you win, then you won’t use up any of your lives. You either can buy more lives or wait 30 minutes per life for each one to restore, or, if you haven’t linked the game to Facebook, you can set the time on your phone or tablet ahead by anywhere from 30 to 2 hours and 30 minutes, depending on how many lives you want to get back.
Once you do that, go back to the game and your life bar will be full. Now, go to the date and time settings and set the time back to normal. Now go back to the game and you will still have all of the lives that you earned from the cheat. Do this trick as many times as you need to in order to play for essentially an unlimited amount of time.
Use your boosts sparingly as once you run out, you have to buy more of them. Once you get past the tutorial, you’ll find that levels tend to be a mix of easy, moderate and hard, like in the Candy Crush games. Wait until you hit one of the genuinely hard levels to use the boosts – don’t waste them in the easy or moderate ones. Wait until you have lost at least five times in a row on a level.
