Not only can you summon heroes in the standard way, but you get 1000 free summons just for playing the game. Go to the City area and look at the top right corner of the screen, and one of the mini icons will say “1000 summons“. It takes until after quest 40 or 50 before this becomes unlocked, but once you do unlock it, you will be able to do 1000 summons for free, which can help you significantly increase your chances of getting a SSR, UR, or SP hero.
There isn’t a huge power difference between R, SR, SSR, and UR characters, and there are many ways to upgrade your characters, but “star up” is the one form of upgrading that is significantly easier to do in large quantities with R and SR characters than with the more rare ones. For this reason, consider using a more common character in your battle party, leveling them up to super high levels and starring them up massively, because they might be even more powerful than a top grade SSR or UR character unless you are a pay to win player with a lot of resources.
Once you hit around stage 150, you end up at the point where it takes a long time to power up your heroes enough to make it to the next stages, and doing the standard adventure quests will stop yielding rewards in the treasury because you can’t beat them. When this happens, there are a few different places where you can collect astronomical amounts of upgrade materials, such as gold coins, hero experience, and “upgrade materials” (which is what they’re actually called in the game).
The first is to go to the quest area and do the quick battles, which give you free rewards right away without having to collect from the treasury. The second is to go to the Voidrift and collect idle income from the Soul Tree, which builds up all of these materials overtime, as well as free diamonds.
Next in the Voidrift, many of the quests, though not all of them, contain upgrade materials, hero experience, and gold coins as a reward, so do all of the ones that you have unlocked and go as far as you can go until you are no longer powerful enough to continue. This includes areas like Primo of Chaos and Dimenal Trap. You can often sweep levels multiple times a day in order to get rewards right away.
The Dark Tower can also be played just like normal quests, and when you get past stage 30, you will be able to “auto next” and allow the Dark Tower battles to happen automatically. Even if you click out of the menu, they will still continue until you come to a battle hard enough that your characters lose. This is also an excellent way to earn upgrade materials for your characters.
When you’re about to kick a character out of your battle party, be sure to hit the “recycle” button in that character’s menu to downgrade them all the way back to level one with no star ups and no equipment. Then, pass the equipment and the upgrade materials to the new, likely rare character that you want to add to the party.
You can quick select certain characters for your party by hitting the “quick select“ button before you battle in almost any game mode. Be sure to do this every time, not only because you get more characters along the way, but because you will unlock more Shikigami Throughout the game, and this will automatically add your most powerful ones to your battle party.
Once you unlock the home area, you can also go to the Hall of Fame, and automatically power up a selection of eight heroes to be just as powerful as the sixth most highly leveled hero on your team. You can swap out one of the eight slots at any time, although when you do, there is a 24 hour cooldown.
You can reroll the initial summons by starting the game over, as long as you are not binded, although if you are binded, you can still delete your account in the settings menu. The settings menu, which is behind your avatar, also contains a redeem code area where you can exchange codes for free prizes and gifts.
