Escalate is Smarcle’s pretty-looking new endless jumper game for the iOS and Android platforms. Your goal here is simply to go as high as you can and score as many points as possible, while collecting gold and avoiding the obstacles that threaten to destroy you in every level. Read on for some tips and tricks for Escalate!
Tap to the left and to the right of your triangle to make it go up and to either side. The directional changes are somewhat gradual, not instant like in other similar games, so you may have to tap twice or three times to get the triangle going in the direction that you want it to.
Watch out for the gears that are rotating downwards against your character. A gear that is rotating upwards is not that dangerous, but one that is rotating downwards can catch you and trap you against the side of the level or even crush you if it catches you. Be extra careful so that you don’t get smashed, especially when you are going up between two gears.
The other obstacles are the ones with the white borders. All of the ones with black borders are safe to touch (as long as they aren’t moving gears) but all of the ones with white borders will kill you as soon as you touch them. If they are moving back and forth or up and down, wait for them to move out of the way before trying to get past them.
Collect all of the little gold lights that you see in the levels, or at least as many as possible. They will allow you to purchase new colors and skins for your triangle. The skins all perform the same way but they allow a degree of customization. The first new one costs 50 gold, and most of the rest cost 100 gold, with some extra expensive ones costing 200.
If you are still playing the initial release of the game, update it and you will get far less annoying ads, and videos that can be skipped. And if you play the game in airplane mode or somewhere that uses no data, the ads will disappear entirely (although, then again, so will the usefulness of your phone).
