Fallout Shelter: How to get free Lunch Boxes

One of the most fun surprises that you can find in Fallout Shelter is lunch boxes, which allow you to open them up and earn a bunch of free goodies. Such goodies include rare dwellers, more caps, power, water and food, as well as equipment and outfits, especially rare weapons that can help you defeat those awful Deathclaws. Lunch boxes can seem a bit hard to come by sometimes, but there are still plenty of ways to get free lunch boxes. Read on for some tips on how to get free lunch boxes in Fallout Shelter!

The most common way to get free lunch boxes is by completing quests. Quests, also called objectives, will earn you rewards when you complete them. Most of the time, this will be caps, but often the quests will give you lunch boxes instead. Typically it will be the tougher or more time consuming quests that will earn you lunch boxes.

The top lunch box trick that you can do is the infamous lunch box glitch at the beginning of the game, with the right kind of objectives. Some of the objectives, such as collection objectives, can be helped along by using tricks such as the time lapse cheat. If you set the time ahead on your phone, you can count down all of the collection timers immediately. Set the time ahead by however long the longest timer lasts for if you want to do it this way. Then go and collect everything and then do it all over again.

If you run out of lunch box quests to do, then start simply completing cap quests. As you complete them they will drop off of the quest lists, and more quests will pop up. Keep on doing this until the cap quests start to give way to lunch box quests. Cap quests will always be the most common, but lunch box quests will pop up every so often.

If you somehow get so far into the game that the lunch box quests stop appearing (or that all quests stop appearing), then you’re going to be stuck waiting for them to come back. In this case it’s all up to the developers whether more of them appear or not, so keep an eye out for when the game gets updated, and once it is updated, then you can go to the App Store or Google Play and download the update.

You won’t be able to find some lunch boxes out on the wasteland quests. However, you can still get many of the same benefits. Keep sending a rotation of dwellers out to the wasteland in order to complete quests. Even if they don’t find a lunch box, they will find other perks such as weapons, outfits, caps, and more.
