Fire Up! is a new game for the iOS and Android platforms by Voodoo, the makers of Dunk Hit and Dune. This game puts a spin on all of the “Ballz” games by making it into a shooter. Your goal is to shoot your way past blocks, earning points for every number that you take away from them. Those points can then be used to purchase upgrades which can strengthen your guns. Read on for some tips and tricks for Fire Up!
When you lose for the first time at a level, you’ll be asked if you want to continue in exchange for watching an ad video. If you have an internet connection, watch the video, because you’ll be watching an ad video anyways if you decide not to. If you don’t have a data connection, then no ads will play at all, so you won’t have to worry about it.
When you finish a level, you can watch another video ad in order to double the amount of points that you got. Skip this if you just finished with a bad run. If you just finished with a really good run, though, this can be a huge boost to your point total. Use those points to boost the speed and the power of your gun.
If you want to skip from one side of the screen to the other at rapid speed, press down on the screen with a second finger while your first finger is on the screen. The gun will skip all the way across to where your second finger is. Use this to get power-ups rapidly and then shoot back to the side of the screen that you’ve already weakened a block on.
When one of the many annoying ads pops up, tap immediately on the top right corner of the advertisement. Do this and the ad will go away immediately. This works whether or not the countdown is done, and whether or not the X to close the ad has popped up or not. Don’t do this if you’re watching an ad that you actually get paid for (such as double points), but do this otherwise.
When you get a power-up, maximize the advantage in firepower that it gives you by sweeping from side to side as much as your progress will allow you to do. Or, if you want to get some quick points without having to put in any effort, simply start a game and then leave your gun in the middle of the screen and watch it go. It’s not difficult to get very high scores this way simply because of the consistency that your shots will make.
