Giant Boulder of Death: Walkthrough, Wiki, FAQ and Beginner’s Guide

Giant Boulder of Death is the latest in the “endless boulder” style of game, which can only be described as a bizarre offshoot of endless running and Katamari. You are the boulder, and your job is to roll over people, things, and plants. You roll down an endless mountain, and make everything in your path scared of the destruction that you’re bringing. Oh, and it’s by Adult Swim, so you know this is going to be one crazy game. Read on for the beginner’s guide to Giant Boulder of Death!

Once you hit the play button, the method of play is simple. You tap the screen to jump, and then you tilt the phone to the left or to the right to steer your boulder. You can tilt it either sideways (like a steering wheel), or dip the right or left side of your phone downwards (like a boat, of sorts). In the options menu, though, you can choose two other, alternate control schemes.

One of the optional control schemes has you hit the right side of the screen or the left side of the screen to steer to the left or to the right, while tapping anywhere else on the screen to jump. The other one puts a joystick on the screen that you can use to steer left or right, as well as a jump button on the other side of the screen – sort of like a videogame controller. However, the tilting method tends to be the easiest to use.

As you roll, you’ll come across all manner of people and things that you can crush. Generally, you can crush people, animals, and trees, as well as small sheds with blue roofs. Some things cannot be crushed, and spike walls and homing mines (which look like big red mines) can kill you if you hit them. Others, such as larger houses, will simply not break, although you won’t die either.

Everything is worth a different amount of points, and the more that you crush, the more points you get. People are generally worth more than animals, which are worth more than trees, although flying trees can knock out people and animals. The multiplier bar on the left side of the screen will fill up, and when it fills up all the way, you will transform into Invinciboulder for around 20 seconds. This will allow you to destroy anything, including large houses, spike walls, and homing mines, as well as any other obstacle that you could not destroy as the standard boulder.
