Arcane Empires is a new strategy game by Kabam for the iPhone. Kabam is otherwise known as the company behind Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle for the North, and this game bears many similarities to that one in terms of playing style, despite also being known as somewhat of a follow-up to Arcane Shores. The game can be slightly difficult to figure out at first, so here are some tips and tricks to help you figure out what you need to do in Arcane Empires!
Your first goal, of course, should be to start building up your stash of food, wood, crystals, iron and silver. Tap on the lower left corner of your screen to get to the “field view” to go to the area where you can build resources. Build three each of the farm, crystal mine, saw mill and iron works, go get your mission rewards for all of those, and then start upgrading them as needed.
Generate more silver by doing one of two things: either upping the taxes on their city (which runs the risk of decreasing their happiness) or simply building more homesteads in the castle area, which increases your population, thus increasing the total amount of taxes that get paid to you.
Now, go back to the castle area and gradually start building one of everything. Tap on an empty space to go to “create building”, and when you see a building that is not yet on there, build it. This will be a MUCH slower process than upgrading your resources, but this is key before you can start really increasing your power and might.
Now that you are getting loaded with resources and buildings, use two things as a guide for what to do: The mission taskbar, which is at the bottom of the screen. Also, use the training grounds. Select a locked troop and hit the tab to see what is in the “Required” list that you don’t own. Go research and/or build what you need.
