Guide to Pitfall! for iOS: Tips, tricks, cheats, hints and strategies

Pitfall! is the newest generation of one of the oldest game series’ in the history of videogames. It began with the original Pitfall for the Atari way back in the day, and now, 30 years later, Pitfall Harry is still trying to avoid traps and beat up on snakes in the new iOS game by the same name. Get as far as you can, collect as much treasure and diamonds as you can, and try to set records. Read on for some tips and tricks for the new Pitfall game!

Each time that you gain a level, you will collect bonus diamonds as a reward, and they can be spent in the store to buy any upgrades, power ups or outfits that you can’t afford using regular treasure if you don’t have enough. The longer that you go in the stage, the more experience that you earn, and the experience relative to the distance ran increases the longer that you go.

Spend treasure and diamonds on the upgrades, rather than the power ups, as often as is possible. The power ups last for only a limited amount of rounds, but the upgrades will last perpetually, making them far more worth it for practical purposes, though if you are going for one single record run, then you should go for the power ups instead.

When you are on the screen in between stages, tap on the rainbow colored shield in the lower right corner of the screen in order to access all of the different awards and patches that you can get. Tap each one individually to see what you need to do in order to earn the applicable patch in the game.

When you are playing the relic rush stage (go back to the main menu in order to access it) don’t use any of the speed ups until you can get through the entire stage at least once without using one, because if you lose while you are playing the stage, the speed ups will be wasted and you won’t be able to get them back unless you pay for them. Get through the stage at least once (if not twice) first, and then start using the speed ups to better your time.
