Hero Academy 2, the iOS and Android APK sequel to the original Hero Academy by Robot Entertainment, allows you to place cards on the board to destroy your opponents’ crystals before they destroy yours. The ultimate goal of every non-challenge round is to destroy crystals, so keep in mind all of your strategies at hand if you want to maximize your gold, gems and ink earnings. First off is card positioning. Revenge allows ranged heroes to counterattack against ranged heroes and melee to counter melee, so position your heroes to be ready for an attack against same-type cards – however, when you launch an attack, cross over and attack range with melee and vice versa if you want to clear their board quickly.
Each hero gets up to two action points per round. If you move a hero, no matter how many squares, you use one action point, and if you attack an enemy or a crystal, then you automatically run out of action points even if that’s your first one. So make the most of them and reposition your character before an attack if you need to, but don’t be afraid to also leave a movement on the table if your next move will send you into a worse position on the board.
You can only put five heroes out on the board at a time, so use your mana judiciously and save it up if you need to in order to place stronger heroes, rather than flood the board with weaker heroes and end up stuck with a lame set of heroes on your board. You can discard cards if you need to in order to set up better cards to appear in your hand.
Use the challenge mode as a training mode because instead of having to simply destroy the crystals, you’ll have to complete a different and very specific task in order to win on the challenge mode. They’re going to be a bit tougher at first than your early duels will be, but if you stick them out and complete them, you’ll learn a LOT that you can use in all of the other duels that you encounter.
Use every single method that you can think of to load up on the gold coins and gems. To get free gold, watch ad videos, and to get free gems, login on Facebook and collect the free daily gems. Use these to get various card packs, from basic to premium card packs. Supplement these by earning shards via battle, and by earning inks via disenchanting cards that you don’t want anymore, both of which either earn you card packs or allow you to craft new cards.
Change up your battle strategies when new terrain obstacles pop up on the map. If you can hide behind something, do so in order to throw off your opponents’ movements, and especially to force ranged opponents to move closer and expose themselves to damage in order to attack you. You can set your characters up to blockade the crystals a little bit better using these obstacles, as well.
