Hex Crush – Tips, Tricks, Cheats, How to Beat, and Strategy Guide

Hex Crush is a hex-grid variation on the formula that games like 1010 have gotten popular with – the endless Tetris style of play, where you fill blocks, make lines, and try to keep it going for as long as possible. In this case, you place pieces down on a hex grid, and you can make lines going either horizontally, or diagonally in either direction, but your goal is still to go for as long as possible. Read on for some tips and tricks for Hex Crush!

The game gives you three pieces that you can put down wherever you want at any time, unless you have no room left for them. Generally, your best bet is to try to put the largest pieces down, or the most cumbersome pieces down early, and save the easy pieces for later. Or just put down what you can fit, and hope that one of the upcoming pieces fits somewhere as well.

There are no power-ups at all in this game, and no in-app purchases. All that you can do is clear lines out, or restart. If you hit the X button on the screen you’ll back out to the title, but your game will keep going. If you hit the refresh button, you’ll be given the option to restart your entire game.

Start from the corners and work your way inwards, kind of like a jigsaw puzzle. It’s going to be difficult to keep this up once you start clearing lines, but try to fill in the holes as well as possible and, like Tetris, try not to leave any open spaces buried, especially those that are 2 to 3 blocks in size.

Clear lines and you’ll earn points. Clear more than one line with the same move, and you will earn a larger number of points. Clear multiple 2-3 line combinations in the same round to make your points improve extremely quickly. Build up as many of these combos as possible, but don’t get too unsafe about it and box yourself in.

Check the high scores to see how you fare compared to other players after you finish a round, especially after you earn a new high score. Hit the menu button, and then the Rank button to get to the Game Center or Google Play me mu so that you can see the top scores. There are a few obvious hacked scores, but no more than about five.
