Back in part 2 of the Spartan Wars beginner’s guide we started to get into the nuances of building up your troops, but we have barely scratched the surface. Both your troops in the barracks and your defenses in the wall will each have a “power level”, whcih encompasses both attack and defense power. All of your troops added together will decide your city’s power level, and the same is true for other cities and their power levels. Your defenses are more powerful than your troops, but your troops are more flexible.
You can plunder different types of cities. First tap on the lower left button to go from the city view to the map view to find other cities. You can visit them, scout them to figure out what their defenses are, and then plunder them. You’ll either score a victory or a defeat, with the victory causing you to earn resources and other spoils, such as artifacts. If you are over level 15, then the bloodbath is also an option.
In addition to other enemy cities, you can attack resource nodes such as goldmines, sawmills, farms and stone quarries, send troops there and then capture them to add to your production. You can attack computer controlled enemy cities, and finally, you can go to the misty cave, send your troops in and try to go as deep as you can into the cave with your attacking troops.
When you attack a mistycave, it’s important to send FAR more troops than you need and to make sure their happiness and morale are both as high as can be, because a lack of either one can sap your army’s power, even into the negatives. Happiness can be increased by giving gold to your troops, while morale can be increased by winning battles or by spending pearls, which are the premium currency of the game. Pearls can be spent as well on all sorts of buffs, which can be found by tapping the menu button and going to the items menu, and finding new items to buy.
That’s about it for the beginner’s guide to Spartan Wars! Enjoy the game!
