Idle Island: Walkthrough, Tips, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

Idle Island is a new iOS and Android game where you build a city out of nothing and turn it into a rich metropolis, eventually purchasing even more cities as you go.

You can build your city by adding houses, stores, and cars, then filling your city with residents so that they can shop and make money. You can buy boosts, earn coins and gems, purchase new cities, prestige for huge boosts, and more.

Each tap on the resident button adds one more resident to your city. You can tap with as many fingers as you want at the same time, so if you’re playing on a phone you can tap with 4-5 fingers at a time. If you are playing on a tablet, you can tap with up to 10 at the same time.

Watch out for loads of free cash gifts to appear at random. The random gifts are worth a little bit of cash for doing nothing. Advertise your city by hitting the play buttons that pop up and an ad video will play, and when it’s done, you’ll earn a LOT of cash.

Tap on airplanes that appear overhead and they will drop cash. When you get a box, open it for cash. And finally, when you come back from being offline you’ll earn offline income; watch an ad video to double the amount that you earn in one shot.

Diamonds are the red gems that serve as the premium currency in the game. Add diamonds for free by completing the quests, which appear one at a time in the top right corner of the screen. Complete a quest and a new one will appear immediately.

For each new city, you need one amount of cash in net worth in order to unlock it, and another amount of cash to be able to start over in your new city. You’ll be back at the beginning, but you’ll be able to buy back all of your upgrades much more quickly due to how much more each citizen earns you.

Special parcels range in rarity from common to rare to legendary, and can earn you bonuses ranging from extra cash and gems to epic upgrades. Epic upgrades are permanent boosts and unlike standard upgrades, they don’t go away when you switch cities.

When you’re extremely far into the game, you can prestige. You’ll earn keys, which give you a percentage multiplier bonus, while knocking you all the way back to Newton, which is the initial city. You’ll keep your gems and your epic research, as well as, of course, any keys that you already earned previously.
