Idle Space: Top Tips, Walkthrough, Hacks, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

Idle Space is a new idle game with the aesthetic of a bullet-hell space shooter by Coldfire Games. You can shoot through level after level of bad guys and bosses using your missiles, machine guns, and techs (special attacks), while collecting minerals, scrap parts for ships, money, dark matter, and more. Read on for some tips and tricks for Idle Space!

Missiles and Machine Guns should both be upgraded regularly right from the beginning, but which you spend more money on depends on how you like to play. Missiles are your tap weapon, while Machine Guns are your idle weapon. Machine Gun upgrades will contribute the most to your offline income, while Tech and Missile upgrades will help you reach far-flung sectors and beat bosses easily.

As you get further into the game, you will be able to do a Dimension Jump and earn dark matter as a reward. Using dark matter, you can then go to the D-Drive and purchase all kinds of bonuses. These included bonuses to each of your individual weapons, as well as to your hull. You’ll have to start again from the beginning, but the dark matter earnings will make it far easier to get back to where you were.

Even though most of the game can be played without an internet connection, you need one in order to take the ad video bonuses, such as the offline income 3x boost. You also need a connection if you want to either do research or play in the events portion of the game. Events are difficult but the provide the best rewards out of anything else in the game. Research gives you permanent boosts and drops the cost of various things permanently, as well.

You want to wait as long as possible to Dimension Jump if you want to maximize dark matter due to the multipliers that appear at various levels (35, 50, etc), but if you want to get a better ship or similar boost, then Jump quickly and frequently. Each time that you beat a boss, you earn scrap, including when you beat a super-old, super-easy boss after a Dimension Jump, so the quickest way to get scrap is to keep beating up hapless old bosses.

As you get farther into the game, you want to keep an eye out for the health of your hull. If you let it get too low, you’ll lose and have to start back over from the beginning of the level. If it gets low, then you can either repair it and keep fighting, or let yourself get blown up, start back over, and fight using new strategies, more taps, or more techs, or more level upgrades in general.
