You start with very few weapons, but you get far more choices as you go through the game. When selecting your secondary weapons, your best bet is to prioritize weapons that do the most area damage possible to the widest variety of enemies. As you make your way through levels, enemy crowds will grow greater and greater, making area damage even more of a priority.

However, one of the best ways to go is often to upgrade your primary gun as much as possible when you gain levels. Not only can you increase the attack power, but you can increase the number of shots fired at a time, allowing your primary weapon to do a significant amount of damage to multiple enemies at once.

Boss characters will provide an extra challenge, especially in the last stage of each level, and heavily upgraded primary weapons are one of the best ways to deal with bosses. Even though bosses are single enemies with tons of health, area damage weapons are a huge boost in fighting them because they keep your primary weapon from being used to take out smaller enemies instead of the boss.

As you make your way through the game, you will unlock more areas in your base, such as the fuel tankers, the arsenal, and more. These allow you to gain various boosts, such as fuel, which acts as energy and allows you to play more rounds. Take advantage of every building in your base as often as possible.

Be sure to use the blitz feature as often as possible. The blitz feature will allow you to automatically clear a level that you have already beaten, earning you more cash, more equipment, more upgrade cores, and more. This will speed the upgrades along so that you can make faster progress.

Chips can be embedded into all of your equipment slots, six chips per slot, and the higher the rarity of the chip, the greater the effect that it has. However, once you get to the point where all of your slots are full, and you end up collecting large numbers of extra chips, go through them and equip the ones that are the most applicable to your style of play. There is no use equipping a chip that boosts a secondary weapon that you hardly ever select, for example.

Be sure to dismantle all of the equipment that you don’t use anymore because you get equipment boxes, which will allow you to advance your equipment. This will increase the rarity, boost the stats, and sometimes even add a secondary stand that gives you a significant boost in battle.
