Micromon is being billed as the latest Pokemon clone for the iOS and Android platforms, but to put it that way is simply a bit of an unfair characterization. This is one of the most well-done original RPGs for mobile, to the point where it feels more at home on a DS than on phones, perhaps. Micromon gives you over 130 different monsters to catch and a surprisingly unique storyline, where you’ve actually been sucked into a mobile phone game. Read on for some tips and tricks for Micromon for iOS and Android!
In this game, you can evolve your characters to make them quite a bit stronger, but the evolution method is closer to Pokemon itself than to other mobile monster collection games such as Puzzle and Dragons or Brave Frontier. Your monsters evolve based on experience level, which means you’ll have to grind the old fashioned way in order to get them where you want them to be. Keep an eye on the development level – the higher it is, the more stats your Micromon will gain as they increase experience levels.
If you catch a new Micromon and you want to help it catch up in levels, send it in for one turn and then swap it out, or send it in for the final turn when the enemy has taken all kinds of damage and let it have the final hit. Any Micromon that participates in a battle, no matter how few hits they get, will get an equal share of the experience points, so use this to your advantage when leveling up new Micromon.
Always try to catch as many Micromon as you can in order to increase your total. Plus, even if you catch only a one- or two-star Micromon (AKA: not rare), check their statistics and their development level; in this game, sometimes common or uncommon Micromon can trump even the rare ones.
Always make sure that your backpack is stocked up with items. Potions restore your Micromon’s hit points, ether restores their stamina and elixir restores both while curing all status ailments. Revive brings back fallen Micromon. Grind for coins if you need to in order to afford more stuff, because having a loaded backpack makes any tough battle easier.
While all participating Micromon will gain experience for battles that they fight in, the Micromon that lands the kill shot will get the most experience overall. Wait until the very end of the battle, and then send in the one you’re trying to level up and let it strike the fatal blow. Repeat over and over to rapidly level that specific one.
