You have five lives to start out the game, and whenever you lose a life, it takes half an hour to restore the life unless you ask your friends on Facebook. You can cheat and get more lives by going to the date and time settings and setting the time ahead by half an hour for every life that you want to restore. Go back to the game and the new lives will appear.
Once you do that, you can set the time back to normal and then go back to the game, and the new lives will still be there. If you don’t want to do the time cheat to get free lives or if the developers patch the trick, you can still open a games-only FB account and look for people who play that you can add. Look on groups dedicated to MLP as well as Google Play or App Store review pages.
Knock of 5, 7 or 9 blocks to get either a lightning bottle, a cauldron or a parasprite that knocks out all of the blocks of one color. If you have two of these special blocks next to each other, though, you can tap one of them and both of them will combine together for huge effects. For example, two parasprites will clear the entire board, or a parasprite and a cauldron will turn all blocks of one color into cauldrons, then blow them up.
Once you pass level 12 you will unlock your first pony. When the pony’s abilities are ready, tap them in order to use their powers. The more ponies you unlock, the more options you’ll have especially as you get to the end of the level, if you need an extra edge.
You’ll need a specific amount of stars to get past certain checkpoints, so with all of your new ponies, go back to old levels that you played when you didn’t have any ponies, and got one or two stars on, and play them again in order to try and get a three-star score. It will be far easier with the extra powers.
