Noblemen: 1896 is a new alternate reality game for the iOS and Android with an extremely unique style of gameplay. It takes elements of first-person shooters, card battlers, and real-time strategy games, mixes them together and turns them into a brand-new game where your goal is to wage war against rival armies in a Civil War-meets-World War 1 setting. You can set various decks/armies, carve out a path to victory along a game board, and then chase down the enemy troops and their hero, shooting them down for the victory. Read on for some tips and tricks for Noblemen: 1896!
During the first person gameplay parts, you have multiple paths to victory that you can take; it all depends on how strong your current troops are. If you go after the rival militias, you can take cover and shoot them all down, one at a time, taking them off of your troops’ back and freeing up your troops to chase the hero. Or you can go after the hero, chasing and shooting him down, beheading the enemy’s entire army and destroying their morale instantly.
Always keep your troops as updated as the cards will allow. Check the barracks after a battle to see if you can level up a character; if you can, then do so and the character’s stat boosts will carry over to every instance of that character in your army. Even in the middle of a war you can always take the time to go to the barracks and raise levels.
Make smart use of your battle cards as you play. Your battle cards will help in various ways, from the supply-reducing Raid card to the mortar blast, which damages random enemy troops, to the bunker builder, which lets you fortify your defenses. Use your HQ’s bombard option smartly as well, if you can aim it at an enemy’s fortifications.
When you log back in after a period of time offline, you can collect the silver and gold from your buildings, with new silver and gold adding up every 10 minutes, 5 hours, 7 days, and 30 days respectively (ordered by reward size). When you do click, you’ll get a random offer to watch an ad for double the earnings. Collect the largest prize first to increase the chances of having the offer pop up on your big prize instead of your small prize.
Take the gold that you collect and head to the war shop, ammo shop, and other in-game stores. The war shop especially is a good use of the gold, as you can purchase new types of troops, and more boost cards. Unlock new units for the ability to set new armies in motion, many of which are more powerful than what you currently have.
