Nono Islands: Tips, Tricks, Cheats and Strategy Guide

Nono Islands is a new platforming puzzle game for the iPhone and iPad. It looks like another endless runner at first, but in this one you hop from one tile to the other, moving up and down platforms and avoiding enemies that want to kill you, all while collecting rewards such as coins, tokens, treasure maps and other goodies. Read on for some tips and tricks for Nono Islands!

If you want to restart from a stage on an island other than the first stage, then you have to set a checkpoint, which costs tokens. If you want to restart from any island without having to bother with checkpoints, though, and you have a timer until you get a free play again, then all that you have to do is shut off the game and then reopen the app. It has to be shut off completely, not minimized.

Play the seventh stage on each island, even if you don’t have to. You don’t have to set any checkpoints to restart on the seventh stage, and you can get free tokens on the seventh stage. The free token happens only when you beat the stage though. If you collect it and then lose the stage, you won’t earn it. After you collect it and then beat the stage, it will be gone again.

You can jump in four directions: forward, forward-left, forward-right, or backward. If you need to backtrack sideways and backwards, then hit the back button, then whatever side you need to go to. Repeat as many times as you need to in order to backtrack to the direction towards which you want to be turned.

You can switch at any time between the male and the female adventurer by tapping the head of whichever your current one is on the bottom left corner of the main map screen. There is no difference in performance between either one of them, and if you switch, you will still have all of the islands available that you earned with the other one.

You can always go back through the old stages if you want to earn all of the rewards that you haven’t earned before. All of the routes will be the same and all of the enemies will move with the same patterns, making it easy to set record times without dying. The more playthroughs, the quicker you will tend to be.
