Welcome to the beginner’s guide for Overkill 2! This new shooter game is one of the best on the iPhone, iPad and Android, and the best part is, it’s completely free to play! There are in-app purchases that you can make, specifically coins and medals, which are the two main forms of currency in the game, but they’re not necessary at all in order to get full enjoyment out of the game.
There are two main modes of play in the game. They are the standard mode, where you have to survive waves of attackers, and the survival mode, where you simply go as long as you can without dying. Your goal, either way, is to kill as many of the enemies as you can. Inevitably, some will escape, but you want to try to prevent that.
There are two types of shots that you can make on an enemy. Headshots are the ones that will do the most damage, and body shots will do less damage, but will still kill them with enough hits. The red meter that appears over an enemy’s head will show how much damage they have taken. When it runs out, you die. When the red meter at the very top of the screen (your life points) run out, then you die.
The rifleman is the most common enemy that you will face. They have less hit points than the others, and they will shoot at you with automatic rifles. Juggernauts will fire rifles as well, but they are more heavily armored. Grenadiers will throw grenades at you, while tactical grenadiers will throw pop stun or flash grenades that will make you dizzy. Both of them have the same amount of armor as riflemen.
Light recon drones and heavy battle drones are more heavily armed, and heavily armored. In addition, each enemy will have one of three forms of armor. The lightest colored ones will be the easiest to kill, while the darkest colored ones will be the most heavily armored.
