Pokémon GO – Uncommon Pokémon: How to get Lapras, Magmar, Electabuzz, Scyther and Jinx

Pokémon GO has taken over the world, and people are getting crazy about the more uncommon and rare Pokémon that serve as the counterpoint to the billions of Pidgeys, Rattatas and Ekanses that pop up constantly. Lapras, Magmar, Electabuzz, Jinx and Scyther are some of the more noteworthy rares from the original generation, and all of them are highly uncommon in this one, too. They also serve as some of the most powerful Pokémon in the whole game though, making them worthwhile for gym raids. Read on for tips on where to find Lapras, Magmar, Electabuzz, Scyther and Jinx in Pokémon GO!

Lapras is an extremely rare one but is considered possibly the best attacker in the entire game, as well as one of the highest CP Pokémon. You’re mainly going to find Lapras near sources of water such as lakes, reservoirs, oceans and rivers, and the higher your experience level, the more likely they are to show up. Being an ice type, it will be more common in colder climates with snow and ice, but also in grassy areas occasionally. Incense and Lure Modules help as well. However, one of the most common places to find Lapras is inside of a 10K egg.

Magmar is one of the most powerful fire types in the game, and being a fire type, your most common place to find it will be in warm and/or dry climates, such as deserts, or in hot-summer Mediterranean locations such as inland California or Italy. Magmar also can be found inside of 10K eggs, so hatch eggs and hunt around Pokéstops for more of them.

Electabuzz is (obviously) an electric type, and as an electric type, you’re likely to find it on a college or university campus. Other places with lots of pavement, such as industrial parks, schools and shopping centers, are good places to look for Electabuzz, with especially common electric locations being cell phone stores and department stores. Like the others, Electabuzz can often be found inside of 10K Eggs.

Scyther is a dual bug and flying type, and those two types are most commonly found in the exact same locations: Grassy and wooded areas such as farms, forests, woods, parks, golf courses and gardens. A park with numerous Pokéstops is an especially good bet so that you and others can drop lures. 10K eggs will also earn you a Scyther.

Jinx is a dual ice and psychic type. Being ice, it will most likely be found in icy and snowy areas as well as grassy or wetland, but being a psychic type, it also likes farms, hospitals, and grasslands as well as sometimes beaches. More commonly, you can hatch a Jinx out of a 10K egg.
