Pokémon: Magikarp Jump – Tips and Tricks Guide: Hints, Cheats, and Strategies

Pokémon: Magikarp Jump is a new iOS and Android game, the fourth Pokémon game for the two platforms. Magikarp Jump takes the lamest Pokémon in the entire franchise and makes it the star of the show, with a competition to see who has the highest-jumping Magikarp. Your goal is to train your Magikarp to jump as high as possible and enter the competitions, beating everybody that you can. You can collect coins and diamonds and purchase all kinds of upgrades to max out your Magikarp training abilities. Read on for some tips and tricks for Pokémon: Magikarp Jump!

You have two ways to improve your jump points in this game. One of them is to use the training, while the other one is to feed your Magikarp. In addition to the zen of simply tapping food as it appears, you can use coins to upgrade your food in the shop in the town. With the upgrades, the points from each food item will increase significantly, making this the quickest way to train new Karp.

When you’re in the feeding screen, scroll up top, past the water, for a number of extra features that are not readily advertised. Pikachu will be slumbering on the shore, and if you tap him, you’ll earn a whole bunch of extra jump points. Afterwards, he’ll go to sleep again about an hour and a half later or so.

Go as far as you can in the jump battles after using all of your training points, especially if you are close to ranking up. Once you rank up, all of your training points will be restored immediately. Plus, you will be able to fish better Magikarp out of the lake and use them for the next league. Their max level will increase by one for every trainer rank that you add.

Once you fish out a new Magikarp, your old one will be retired. Your new one will have a higher max-level, but it will start out right from level 1 again. That’s why it’s important to earn coins and upgrade your training and your food, so that you can level it back up to acceptable battle levels and jump points rather quickly before trying to take on another league.

Decorations have a use in this game. Once you earn decorations or buy them, add them to your pond. Not only will they give you something to look at, but they will also give you various other bonuses. For example, the Shaymin Planter increases the JP from food by 14 percent, while the Sunflora Bunch adds to the coins that you receive from events.
