Puzzles & Pixies – Tips, Tricks, Cheats and Strategy Guide

Puzzles & Pixies is a new puzzle game for the iOS platform created by 10Tons. Unlike most matching games, this one is done on a hexagonal grid, which gives you more possibilities as far as what combos to make, but also a lot more problems and obstacles once you start getting into the later stages. Read on for some tips and tricks for Puzzles & Pixies!

Like most of the matching puzzle games you have five lives, each time you lose or forfeit a round you will lose a life, and each time you lose a life it will take 30 minutes before you can get it back, unless you want to buy an extra life. Alternatively, go to the date and time settings on your phone and set the time ahead by half an hour per life lost, and you’ll get a full life restoration.

You can do this any time that you want to; however, when you set the time back to normal, the in-game time will go back to normal as well, meaning that your free lives will disappear, and if you have already spent them all, then your cool-down time towards a free life will have all of the cheated time added onto it. For that reason, this cheat is best done when you’re playing before bed or whatever.

Matching seven pieces will create one of the vertical bonus fairies for you – additionally, many more will appear, both vertical and bomb fairies, at random. Incorporate them into a combo any way possible for max points. You can even match two pieces instead of three if it means getting a fairy to do its thing.

Use more than one fairy in one combo to combine their effects, usually. The most notable example of this is when you combine two bomb fairies in one combo, which creates a much larger explosion. Combining a line fairy and a bomb fairy will just make a line and a bomb at the same time.

The special effect of the fairies will always occur centered on the last fairy of the combo, so draw the combo based on where you want the last fairy to be, and thusly where you want your special effect to happen at. Do this based on where the pieces are that you need to get rid of in order to win the current stage.
