Railroad Gangs is a new action strategy game for the iOS platform. This Clash of Clans-alike puts you into an old-western style world where the earliest trains carried settlers into new desert lands of the Wild West, and they then formed into gangs and attacked each other for food and money. Your goal is to stake your place in that world by forming the most powerful town that you can, and destroying other players’ towns. Read on for some tips and tricks for Railroad Gangs!
Early on in the game when you have a beginner’s shield, you will want to build up your town as quickly as possible. Upgrading the mansion should be the number one priority, and with it, you’ll have to build more mints (for gold) and bakeries (for food), as well as building and upgrading your food storages and coin storages so that you can hold more of both.
Battles are where all of the real fun is, though. Make sure that you have as many houses as possible, because more than anything, battling is a numbers game. Troops are the key to both your defense and your offense, since they will be the main defenders of your base. Defensewise, make sure that your houses are placed as close to your resource production units as possible.
You’ll start off with only henchmen as your main troop, but you can unlock new troops as you go. Do this by upgrading your tavern, first off. Then, build the guild to upgrade your individual troops. As you upgrade the guild you can turn it into either a warrior guild, a rogue guild or a craftsman guild, each of which unlocks three different types of new and more powerful units.
You start off with plenty of gems in this game but if you don’t save them, they run out quickly. You can refill your gems for free by clearing debris from your territory, such as rocks and cactus. They regenerate over time, allowing you to continue earning more and more gems. Complete achievements and collect your daily tributes for even more free gems.
Guild play is where the real fun begins. If you join or create a union, you and your union-mates can send troops back and forth. Unlock this by building a council. Once you are in a union you can request troops from your teammates, and send them troops as well.
