SHUMP is a new game for the iOS and Android platform that combines shoot-em-ups with platform games, as the name suggests. Your goal is to jump as high as possible and get as far as you can, while competing with a high score. You can earn power-ups and coins along the way, as well as unlock new characters. Read on for some tips and tricks for SHUMP!
Your character shoots automatically, but you control the movement to the sides, as well as the jumping. You’ll see gaps in the platforms above, but when you land on a platform, all of the gaps will be filled in. The gaps will be where the enemies can and will fall through, as long as you don’t kill them first.
Shoot everyone that you can before you start jumping upward. Start with the moving enemies, so that they won’t fall down to your platforms and get you, and after that, move onto the stationary enemies, as long as you have enough room to jump up before you get dragged off of the bottom of the stage. Collect the coins all the way up.
You can unlock two new characters using the coins that you earn. The rest of them have to be unlocked by beating various bosses. Collect the bronze, silver, and gold coins on the way up (gold are worth most, and silver is worth second-most), or go to the character select screen, go to one of the characters that you don’t have enough coins for, and try to buy them. You’ll be asked to watch a video ad to collect the coins. Watch as many ads as you want, and you’ll earn 100 coins apiece.
For the rest of the bosses, you have to beat specific bosses in order to unlock them. The first two bosses don’t do anything, but once you get to the snake, frog, bat, bird, fish, seal, hog, and bull bosses, and then beat them, then you’ll unlock Cleo, Tito, Bert, Tori, Amia, Mica, Troy, and Bill.
Power-ups will pop up randomly, like in any good shoot-em-up game, as you defeat enemies, so don’t bypass those. Grab those whenever you see them. As they’re sitting there, they will change randomly; wait until you find the variation that you want, then collect it to get what you want.
