Soccer Rally 2 – Tips and Cheats: The Strategy Guide

Remember that old Top Gear gag where they take a bunch of small cars and use them to play soccer with a giant soccer ball? Yeah, Soccer Rally 2 is kind of like that, meaning that it is insanely difficult and insanely fun. Read on for some tips and tricks for Soccer Rally 2!

The steering wheel control mechanic is difficult to get the hang of. For some, it will never be truly possibly or practical to do so, and you might find better luck switching the controls around in the options menu. Change them to the two side arrows as control sticks to make it similar to most top-down racing games, and for an easier way to play accurately.

Choose wisely when it comes to the cars you buy and the upgrades you do. Balance power and speed. You want enough speed so that you can catch up to opposing players, but without power, your defense will not be very good, so increase power to help out on defense. In fact, at points, slower sometimes actually is better, because if you’re too hot on the throttle it becomes very easy to get stuck on walls and get pinned by other cars.

There are many ways to play defense, but the best ways are often the dirtiest. For example, in the normal career mode, take another car and pin it up against the wall, ram into it, or do other dirty tricks to immobilize the opposing offenses so that your teammates can get the ball back.

Perhaps the most important control to master is using the reverse function. The challenge stages will be far easier to beat, especially the ones where you have to knock balls into the goals as quickly as possible. Plus, this will give you another weapon to use against other players in the local matches and against other cars in the career mode.
