Spellstorm is a new card battling game for the iOS and Android platforms by TinyCo, the company that’s usually known for games such as Tiny Dragons and Tiny Monsters, and other games with Tiny in the title. Spellstorm is a far cry from their usual fare. It’s a very cartoony, cel-shaded card battling game in which your goal is to defeat the cultists who are threatening to destroy the land. To do this you collect and enhance cards, go on quests and battle against both raid bosses and other players. Read on for some tips and tricks for Spellstorm!
Each battle that you fight has a “rock paper scissors” form of strength and weaknesses to that. Abyssal is strong against Ethereal, but isweak against Primal. Ethereal is strong against Primal, but weak against Abyssal, while Primal beats Abyssal but is weak against Ethereal. Remember this when you are putting your teams together, because having a good strategy can be the difference between life and death in this game.
Coins are hard to come by, but sometimes, you need them to enhance or evolve your cards when you keep losing at a particular battle. When this is happening, go to another questing location, even one that you have already beaten, and start completing that quest that isn’t hindered by the boss. Also, go to the battle screen and go to the “history” and start fighting against everyone who has battled you, and who you have beaten.
Don’t enhance your cards until after you have evolved them as far as they will go. If you do, then they will lose their enhanced stats after you evolve them. This goes for both character cards and equipment cards. Until then, equip them with weapons cards, and then evolve and enhance the weapon cards to make them even more powerful.
If you can’t go on any further in a quest because you have too many cards, but you can’t afford to evolve or enhance to get rid of cards, simply discard the cards. You’ll find many replacements for them as you continue in the quest, and you’ll gain the coins to do something with them (use them for enhancements) later on.
