The characters in your group auto-fire their weapons. Despite that, there is still plenty that you can do in order to give your team a strategic advantage in this game. If you tap on an area of the screen your whole squad will move there, but if you tap on one hero and then drag him, you will be able to place him wherever you want, allowing you to move your whole squad behind cover or to different places on the map for a better defensive strategy.

Another strategy is to send in your guy with the highest health and defense to draw enemy fire while your other three squad members open fire. This is especially effective if one of your members is a medic or if you have plenty of reviving action cards, such as band-aids.

If your enemy is hiding behind cover and you want to flush them out, run right at them and force them to move. When they are standing you will do more damage. From that point either go back behind cover or keep on moving, running in a circle around your enemies to avoid more of their fire while doing as much damage as possible.

You don’t have to kill every single enemy on the stage if you want to speed-run the mission, except for areas where it specially says that this is what you have to do to move on. This is especially helpful if you are playing for free gold, which you will get for beating a mission for the fourth time, and oftentimes for other replays too, depending on the stage (such as boss stages).

Hero fuel is used to upgrade all of your hero cards. Try to save it for your most critical cards or for your rarest cards, but whenever you get to a hard stage that you can’t beat, use hero fuel to get past it more easily. Or use gold to buy some rarer cards.
