Read for some tips and tricks for Transformers: Age of Extinction!
You have three attacks that you can use to damage your enemies. The range attack is a specific gun that your Dinobot has equipped. The melee attack is a short range of fact that does a little bit more damage than the melee attack. Your strongest attack, however, comes after transforming from a car back into a robot. Hit the transform button to turn into a car. Let go of it to turn into a robot, and your transformer will unleash an extremely powerful melee attack in the process of changing forms.
You have a certain amount of time to finish each stage. Make the most of it by transforming into a car for a good bit of time, driving forward and getting the decepticons to follow you. The farther you get, the more decepticons will follow. Once you have a good bit of them after you, transform back into a robot and start killing them off one by one.
Purchasing new equipment can still be expensive and requires various colors of energon packs. Use the energon shards that you pick up during battle to upgrade it your pre-existing equipment to make it stronger. Upgrading to either the ranged attack or the melee attack will increase their power, while upgrading whatever piece of armor you have will increase your hit points.
You have up to 3 quests on each of the stages. Most of the time you will only earn one star the first time that you play through. Go back through each stage as you upgrade your equipment, and earning the two extra stars first change will be a lot easier. Start with the earliest stage and work your way up in order to make it as easy as possible.
Buy upgrades in order of importance. Usually the ranged weapon upgrade will be the most important one, simply because it’s the most useful, because naturally you are going to want to kill every enemy from as far away as possible. The health upgrade is the least important. The only time you need to worry about a health upgrade is if you are stuck on a stage and you need a little bit of an extra boost.
